Description

The Dooars are the alluvial floodplains in eastern-northeastern India that lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and north of the Brahmaputra River basin. This region is about 30 km (19 mi) wide and stretches over about 350 km (220 mi) from the Teesta River in West Bengal to the Dhansiri River in Assam. The region forms the gateway to Bhutan.[1] It is part of the Terai-Duar savanna and grasslands ecoregion.
The places to visit in Dooars are Jaldapahar, Murti, Jhalong, Bindu, Guru Mara Forest.

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

Day : 1 Departure From Sealdah By Train

Departure Sealdah Rly.Stn.at 08.35 pm by kanchankanya Exp. for New Mal Junction.
Night-Stay:In Train
Day : 2 Lataguri

Arrival to New mal Junction at 9.10 & transfer to Lataguri. After Lunch visit Gorumara Forest & Watch Tower (by part own cost). Return to hotel in the Evening.

Day : 3 Lataguri

After breakfast visit Samsing, Murti & Suntalekhola-Rocky Island (by walk). Return to hotel for Lunch. Evening free for individual activities.

Day : 4 Jaldapara

After breakfast proceed to Jaldapara via Jhalong-Bindu. Enroute Lunch. Reach Jaldapara at afternoon. Evening visit South Khayerbari Leppard Rescue Centre & return to hotel.

Day : 5 Cooch Behar

Early Morning visit Jaldapara Forest (by party own cost). Return to hotel. After breakfast proceed to Cooch Behar. Reach Cooch Behar in the afternoon & check-in to hotel. After Lunch Cooch Behar Rajbari, Rashik Bill & Madan Mohan Temple & return to hotel.

Day : 6 Train

After Early Lunch transfer to New Cooch Behar Rly.Stn to board the train by 13142 Dn Testa Torsha Exp. at 12.40 pm. for Sealdah
Night-Stay:In Train
Day : 7 Sealdah - Tour End

Arrival to Sealdah at 4.10 am.
